For this project, I redesigned the album cover of Auroro Borealo's "Implacabile" in a cumbia-inspired style, in dimensions suitable for a CD case and with the limit that I was required to use an image provided to me of the musician in bed. 

Cumbia is a Latin American folkloric music genre and its album art features a wide range of styles and design elements.

I chose to create two contrasting designs, the first (above) being inspired by more abstract imagery used in this genre's album art, and the second (below) being inspired by more representational imagery, specifically relating to beaches.

Typography is also prominent in the composition of both designs, both in curved shapes to recall the relaxed nature of cumbia music.
